ESPA or European Student Placement Agency is a recruitment agency whose goal is to find high quality internships for European students and recent graduates in the UK. We work closely with our host companies to ensure the positions provide the candidates with a great experience, both professional and personal. The host company is a fast growing ed-tech start-up and the developer of a cross-platform planner app for anyone in education with over 1.5 million registered users worldwide. Primarily aimed at students and designed to replace the traditional paper planner supplied by schools, it allows users to organise their classes, tasks and exams in a simple and easy to use way. The company was founded in 2014, but the history of the product dates back to 2011 when it was created by the company’s founder out of frustration with paper planners and the ease of use of the numerous intranet sites used by his sixth form.

Zakres obowiązków

Role The host company is looking for an ambitious C# developer to join their fast growing ed-tech start-up based in Aldershot, Hampshire. You will work on their platform and apps to add new features and functionality for over 1.5 million users around the world – and growing. Tasks The successful candidate will work as part of the existing research and development team. Tasks will include, but not be limited to:  Working as part of a team to build software applications from initial specification to final deployment and acceptance.  Rapid prototyping of new ideas.  Functional, performance and stress testing of the product.  Automating tests using testing tools and scripts.  Manual testing of the product.

Wymagania

ESPA vacancies are open to all EU passport holders able to travel to the UK for an educational work placement, without the need for visa documents. You have to still be a student or have graduated in the last 12 months. Any student who is unsure of their visa situation should check with their university before applying. Languages English should be B2/C1 at least Personal Skills Essential:  A passion for technology, an eye for detail and be eager to learn  Knowledge of the following Technology Sack: o Backend – built for the cloud (Microsoft Azure), C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, SQL o Mobile – C#, Xamarin on iOS/Android, MvvmCross o Web – HTML5, CSS3, Less, JavaScript, AngularJS  Strong written communication and organization skills and be highly self-motivated. Desirable:  Prior professional experience desirable but not necessary.  A strong grasp of object orientated design and experience of working in a source controlled environment is a plus.  Experience of test-driven development would be advantageous.
