Zakres obowiązków

As a Mapping Developer the candidate will work as part of the company’s geospatial team on projects and ad-hoc tasks as required. The intern will be specifically tasked with modeling and developing GIS (Geographic Information System) tools and applications, mainly for the purpose of geo-processing and data transfer. The successful candidate should be adept at building user-centric Web UI Interfaces or GUIs. Tasks • Develop Python programs for data management, manipulation and transfer. • Write and build SQL scripts. • Build interfaces for data upload and attribution. • Contributing to the technical development of the GIS team through sharing ideas and innovations.

Wymagania

Personal Skills Essential: 1. Experience with Python and SQL. 2. Knowledge of Quantum GIS (QGIS), or similar such as ArcMap, MapInfo, etc. 3. Knowledge of GDAL, GIT, RDBMS (PostgreSQL / PostGIS). 4. An ability to work in a self-directed way. 5. An ability to pick up and evaluate new technologies. Desirable: 1. Linux operation. 2. RESTful APIs. 3. JSON / GEOJSON / TOPOJSON. 4. OpenLayers3 / Leaflet. 5. Spatial Data Analysis. 6. Familiarity with AWS. 7. Java, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, XML, Elastic Search. 8. Familiarity with SVG. Upper-intermediate English knowledge. B2 minimum required.

The benefits are: 1) Paid Accommodation. 2) Paid Utility Bills (electricity, gas, water and council tax) + Internet Access 3) Commuter travel to work (accommodation will be found within an acceptable commuting distance from the workplace, if that requires more than a sensible walk then a bus/train ticket will be provided). This will be sourced and managed on your behalf by ESPA. These benefits have an approximate value of 700€-1000€ per month (depending on location). There is no salary over and above the benefits offered, unless specifically stated.
