Job Description Role: Postdoctoral researcher in material aspects of optical fibres Description: Postdoc will use material engineering phenomena in specialty (e.g. microstructured) optical fibre technology to develop and optimise new optical fibres for distributed sensors working in nuclear environment. All tasks will be realised in close cooperation with PCFS's team, what will cover broad range of activities: research, innovation development, project planning and realization, communication and dissemination, management, legal and administrative matter. The target of the proposed research is to develop new optical fibre working in nuclear environment for optical distributed sensing. In a frame of the position, Postdoc will actively take part in R&D and training programme planned in the project.

Zakres obowiązków

Main Duties • Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with the InPhoTech’s and project guidelines on research and maintain all required records of such research appropriately. • Undertake investigation of selected material aspects of optical fibres to identify appropriate sensing principles. • Undertake investigation of selected scattering methods to identify appropriate sensing principles. • Cooperate with Supervisor. • Liaise with the Financial and Administration Department, Technology Department, R&D Department and other researchers on scientific, technical and financial aspects of the project. • Contribute to the research activities of InPhoTech. • Prepare written updates of investigation progress and contribute to reports to FNP, as appropriate. • Assist with the supervision of lower rank researchers and engineers as appropriate. • Participate in project meetings as required. • Participate in a relevant training programme. • Present research findings to scientific or industrial audiences. • Any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post. All work need to be realized in accordance to InPhoTech's management quality system in line with the ISO 9001 standard for: providing research and development in the field of photonics in order to implement practical solutions in innovative technologies. All InPhoTech staff have a responsibility to comply with the relevant Health and Safety Policy.
